About

Hi! I’m Arbara.  I’m so glad that you came to visit my blog!  I’m excited to share ideas with you, whether you are an aspiring child therapist or a parent looking for information to help your child.

You’ve come to the right place!

A Little Bit About Me

I’ve wanted to work with kids since I was old enough to do so. I started out babysitting, working at camps, and working at daycares. After college, I became a School-Based Therapist. Since then I’ve been a Developmental Therapist, an Outpatient Therapist, a Zumbini instructor and a private practice owner. Now, I have a blog.

I’m a Registered Play Therapist and I own a practice called Safe Haven Counseling where I work with children on various mental health, developmental, social, and familial concerns.  In addition to studying psychology, I’ve also studied Infant and Early Childhood Development and Early Relational Health.

Why Start a Blog?

With my private practice, I can only reach a small number of families. With this blog, I’m able to reach the world. I’m learning so much and I really want other people to know about the things that I’m learning.

Also, full disclosure, I wanted even more flexibility in my schedule. I want to travel, meet people, and see the world.

How Can I Help You?

If you are a parent and considering putting your child in therapy, or things are changing a little and you’re not sure what to do. Or maybe you want some advice on the best developmentally approapiate toys and books you can buy for your child.

If you are a therapist and you want to work with kids but don’t know where to start. Or maybe you’ve been a therapist for a while and looking to niche down or start your own practice.
